Lisa is the Sustainable Agriculture Director of the Althelia Funds. She has extensive project and field experience in the sustainable agriculture sector in developing and emerging countries. She has expertise in natural resources management, sustainable value chains, rural banking and infrastructure.
Lisa focuses on managing projects for the Althelia Funds throughout the investment cycle in Africa and Latin America, including deal sourcing and development, financial analysis, due diligence, M&E, carbon impact and portfolio management. She also worked on developing new business opportunities for Mirova Natural Capital such as the Agro-ecological transition in France.
Before joining Althelia, Lisa began her career with the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) where she covered various portfolios across regions (Africa, LATAM, Asia) and commodity value chains. She specialized in economic and financial analysis, monitoring and evaluation, portfolio management as well as cross cutting technical areas such as climate-smart agriculture, smallholder resilience, gender equality, agriculture financing, value chain development and financial inclusion. She worked on project origination, structuring, supervision and evaluation in the field for various DFIs during 5 years. Later, she spent 2 years at the Investment Centre of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) where she worked as an agricultural economist on investments financed by the World Bank, IFAD, IFC and others worth up to US$500m in the agricultural, NRM, rural banking and forestry sectors. In addition to investment structuring and operation supervision, she contributed to market and policy research (forestry, agricultural value chains) and impact evaluation in Africa.
Lisa has an MBA in Risk and Quality Management from SciencePo and an MSc in Agricultural Policies in Developing Countries from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
Lisa is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
