Antoine is the Marine Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager of the Althelia funds, coming as a support to the ESG team as Althelia is expanding its work towards fisheries, aquaculture and marine conservation investments with the launch of the Sustainable Ocean Funds (SOF). He will be in charge of ensuring that the SOF investments are in line with Althelia ESG policies and of monitoring the social and environmental impacts of these projects.
Prior to joining Althelia, Antoine worked close to ten years at the frontier between international development and the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, including over 7 years based in the field. During this period, he worked in Madagascar as a sites manager for a social enterprise producing seaweed for export, before joining an international NGO to coordinate and expand their community aquaculture activities. Antoine then joined a Paris based consultancy firms, specialised in the marine sector, where he worked on projects for institutional clients, coordinating amongst other a study for the World Bank on the sustainability opportunities in the seafood processing industry in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, with a team of international experts. He then spent two years in Ghana for a British NGO as country coordinator, setting up the organisation operations in country and leading on the implementation of an EU funded project aiming at fighting illegal fishing and empowering small-scale fishers in the decision-making processes.
Antoine has a technical degree in Aquaculture, a Masters in Tropical Agronomy and International Development from ISTOM (France), and an MSc in Management and Corporate Sustainability from Cranfield University – School of Management, UK.
